PDF to CDN

How PDF upload works

From PDF file to shareable CDN link in seconds.

• Drop or select a PDF — try it without signing up; guest uploads support PDFs up to 16 MB.
• Get your CDN URL instantly — every upload returns a public URL served from Cloudflare's global edge.
• Share or embed the link — send the URL in email, Slack, or CRM fields.
• Automate with the API — POST the same file from curl, n8n, Zapier, or your backend.

Upload PDFs via API

One POST request — get a public PDF URL in the response.

• POST multipart/form-data to https://api.droptocdn.com/v1/files with an Authorization: Bearer dtc_… header.
• The response returns id, url, expires_at, size, mime_type, and original_name.
• Embed the link with an iframe, or link to it with an anchor tag.

PDF CDN use cases

Where teams use PDF-to-CDN workflows.

• Invoices and reports: generate a PDF in your app or accounting tool, upload it, and email customers a stable CDN link.
• Sales and proposals: host pitch decks, one-pagers, or signed contracts with a public URL you can paste anywhere.
• Workflow automation: export a PDF from n8n or another step, upload, and pass the link to the next system.

PDF upload FAQ

Common questions about PDF uploads.

Are only PDF files supported?

This page focuses on PDF uploads (application/pdf). Drop to CDN accepts any file type via the same API — see the homepage or other use-case pages for images and videos.

Can people view the PDF in the browser?

Yes. Most browsers open PDF URLs inline or offer a download. The file is served with Content-Type application/pdf from the CDN.

Do you convert or compress PDFs?

No — PDFs are stored and served exactly as uploaded. Optimize or merge files before upload if needed.

How long do PDF links stay valid?

Guest uploads expire after 1, 3, or 7 days (your choice). Free accounts default to 7 days; paid plans offer up to 365 days or never expire.
